In our project, we have examined the Cumhuriyet Fountain in Küçükmustafapaşa in Fatih which is also known as Ayakapı. We have worked out for restoration. With this project, we have aimed at carrying on studies and researches further and we have made an effort to make this fountain to be a part of our cultural heritage.

In our project, we have aimed at creating awareness to protect and transfer our cultural heritage to new generations. At the beginning of this project, we have asked ourselves whether historical monuments in Istanbul are protected or not. As a result of our studies, we have concluded that historical and cultural heritage of Istanbul which was the capital of many empires should be protected better. We have asked ourselves what we can do instead of giving the responsibilities to others. Thus, the main idea of this project has arisen.
