Our high school in the Levent Campus joined 3.576 IB World Schools on April 23, 2013; our high school in the Tepeören Campus joined 4.786 IB World School on May 1, 2018.
The IB Diploma Programme of the International Baccalaureate Organization established in 1968 in Geneva, Switzerland is known for its high academic standards and offers students more than 6 groups of subjects – Language, Foreign Language, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics, Art and Elective Subjects. The programme is compatible with the Terakki’s educational approach. Through the Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Extended Essay (EE), and Creativity-Action-Service (CAS) Programme that establish the philosophy and core of the IB Diploma Programme students have an authentic life experience besides what they see in the classroom.
The IB Diploma Programme is a pre-university programme that lasts 2 years and aims to raise individuals who are communicators, thinkers, risk-takers, principled, caring, open-minded, balanced, knowledgeable, reflective, inquirers, and respectful for other cultures with an intercultural understanding for a peaceful world.
The programme offers students aged 16-19 international academic standards necessary for being successful in higher education and afterwards. The diploma programme is implemented as Pre-IB in Grade 9 and as regular IB DP in Grades 10 and 11. Students sit the DP exams at the beginning of Grade 12.
The programme can be effective in entrance to universities in Turkey and abroad and decisions regarding admissions and/or scholarship according to the admissions policy of each university.
The International Baccalaureate Organization was established as a non-commercial organization in Geneva, Switzerland in 1968. Since then it is the most competent, rational, and functional education program accepted all over the world. The purpose of the foundation was to help students who continue their high school or higher education in a country other than their native countries have their curriculum offered in a common and universal framework.
The IB Diploma Programme is a comprehensive, pre-university programme that lasts two years and is offered to students aged 16-19.
High school students with high motivation who chose this programme are entitled to get the IB diploma with international validity after sitting the exams at the end of two years and being successful at the assignments and essays they prepare.
The diploma programme implemented in national schools in Turkey is offered in a way that meets the requirements of the Ministry of Education by taking into consideration the academic system in place before entering a university.
