Terakki Foundation Schools is proud to be the first K-12 institution in Istanbul to have been awarded prestigious accreditation by Eaquals (Evaluation and Accreditation of Quality Language Services), the leading professional association for language learning.
Terakki FLD became an accredited Eaquals member in 2015, and in 2019 we passed our second inspection with flying colors. In May 2023, we were pleased to welcome inspectors from Eaquals for our third inspection which took place over four days across both campuses. The subsequent report again confirms evidenced excellence in language teaching at Terakki; not only were all twelve of Eaquals’ rigorous standards met, but they were exceeded.
Eaquals is acknowledged by the Council of Europe and has members from over 30 countries. As part of its remit to promote excellence in language teaching, in addition to inspecting the quality of teaching and learning in language teaching centers, Eaquals brings together national and international organizations who support language education, as well as working with experts in the field of language teaching and learning. The association has expertise in the following areas: CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages); Teacher Development; Academic Management and Quality Assurance and accreditation.
The utmost focus of an Eaquals inspection is the quality of language instruction. The rigorous inspection by experienced and expert inspectors includes a thorough evaluation of documentation, lessons observations, and meetings with the many stakeholders involved in running a successful educational establishment. The categories inspected include: Teaching and Learning; Course Design and Supporting Systems; Assessment and Certification; Learning Environment; Client Services; Quality Assurance.
As members of the Eaquals network, Terakki FLD has presented at Eaquals conferences, hosted guest speakers from Eaquals at our own conferences, and benefitted from tailored expert advice from Eaquals inspectors. In addition, the FLD has access to professional development webinars organized by Eaquals, and to partner schools with whom our students celebrate European Day of Language.
