International Achievement from Our ESU Terakki Debate Society Club
Students from our High School ESU (English Speaking Union) Terakki Debate Society Club at our Levent Campus demonstrated outstanding success at the “Winter Holidays Open 2024 Open International Debate Tournament” held in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, from December 12th to 16th.
Fifteen students from our Terakki Debate Society Club participated in this international debate event, which hosted 480 students from thirty-five countries. Our team members included:
Deren Turan (9F), Şiir Başaran (9F), Zeynep Boyacıoğlu (9H), Efe Deniz Genç (10G), Rüzgar Morva (10G), Elçin Erkoca (11D), Ali Ertuğrul Yazıcıoğlu (10I), Elif Naz Akbolat (10B), Halil Batu Dark (11B), Egem İzcimen (10F), Yiğit Alkan (10F), Melissa Mutlu (10F), Ela Çakmak (11B), Bora Berker (10H), and Alya Konya (11C).
Deren Turan, Efe Deniz Genç, Ali Ertuğrul Yazıcıoğlu, Rüzgar Morva, Elif Naz Akbolat, Elçin Erkoca, Zeynep Boyacıoğlu, and Halil Batu Dark achieved individual scores of 70 or higher out of 80, earning them a place in the prestigious “70 Club.”
Efe Deniz Genç stood out with a score of 73, while Deren Turan’s exceptional performance with a score of 74 secured fourth place in the “Novice” category, competing among 109 debaters.
