Our IBDP CAS Students Took Part in the “CAS Global Exchange” Program in Prague

Our IBDP CAS students participated in the “CAS Global Exchange” program held in Prague from April 6th to 11th. The group, consisting of 10 IB and 11 IB grade students from both of our campuses, was led by our Levent CAS coordinator Selin Arzuman, Extended Essay Coordinator Özge Kahkeci, and Tepeören CAS coordinator Fulya Demirok Sönmez.

During the program, students engaged in a variety of activities spanning the three areas of CAS: creativity, activity, and community service. They delved into Prague’s relationship with homelessness through activities like “Homeless Cooking” and “Homeless Walking Tour,” where they prepared and distributed food for the homeless and gained firsthand insights from a homeless guide. Additionally, they collaborated with Prague’s top magazine to sell copies, with proceeds supporting homeless initiatives.

In the “Urban Farming” event, students visited an organic farm to learn about sustainable farming practices and environmental issues. They also participated in agricultural activities to deepen their understanding.

Exploring Prague’s street art and dance scene, students honed their dancing skills with Hip Hop sessions and explored their creativity through graffiti in events like “Street Dance” and “Graffiti.”

The “Urban Treasure Hunt” led students on a journey through Prague’s old town, combining teamwork, problem-solving, and historical exploration for an engaging and educational experience.

Evening activities like yoga, bowling, and laser tag provided students with opportunities for social interaction and personal growth, fostering skills in social responsibility, environmental awareness, and global citizenship.

Upon program completion, students began work on long-term projects aimed at making positive impacts within their communities.
